The Sixth Annual DTU Football Tournament Ends

Teams participating in the sixth annual DTU football tournament entertained their spectators with terrific football matches, played professionally and fairly on June 30th in South Hoa Khanh, in the Lien Chieu district of Danang. The players were mostly DTU staff and faculty and the tournament was great fun because, as well as having the opportunity to win the cup but they also were able to build up their friendships, teamwork and stay healthy at the same time.

After two months of competition, the best four teams entered the finals. The spectators eagerly cheered to welcome the two remaining matches, including one for the cup between the Administration Office and the Union of Human Resources Department, the International School, the Office of International Relations, the Facilities Office and the Center for Educational Testing, and another, for third place, between the Faculty of Architecture and the Union of Electrical Engineering, the Faculty of Information Technology and the Documents Center.
 
The match for third place heated up in the first minute, when the Faculty of Architecture scored the first goal. After that, although the Faculty of Architecture played confidently and scored regularly, the Union of the Center of Electronic Engineering, the Faculty of Information Technology and the Documents Center did not give up against such a strong team. Finally, with a score of 3-1, the Faculty of Architecture won third place.

The two teams participating in the final match entered a dramatic battle to win the championship. The Administration Office overwhelmed their competitors 2-0 to win the sixth annual DTU mini- football tournament.     

Distinguished teacher Le Cong Co awarded the cup and bonus money to the Administration Office and the second prize to the Union of Human Resources Department, the International School, the Office of International Relations, the Facilities Office and the Center for Educational Testing. The Union of the Center of Electronic Engineering, the Department of Information Technology, and the Documents Center was honored to receive the prize for “style”. Le Dinh Hung won an award for “best goalkeeper” and Nguyen Duy Khanh for “best scorer” this season.

The Sixth Annual DTU Mini Football Tournament ended with lots of fun and warm memories. The tournament was highly successful and gave the staff and faculty the opportunity to improve their sporting spirit and teamwork and to get to know each other better, at work and at play.
