On May 26th, the Opening Ceremony of the VI DTU Football Tournament was held at the DTU campus in South Hoa Khanh, Lien Chieu District, to commemorate DTU’s 19th anniversary (from November 1994) and to celebrate “2013 Month of Employers”. Distinguished Teacher Le Cong Co, DTU President and Provost, representatives from the Danang Labor Union Broadcast Center, DTU football teams and many supporters attended the event.

Referee Phung Anh Quan said: “The DTU Football Tournament is an opportunity for DTU faculty and staff to improve their health and awareness of sports. With a sense of fair play by the referees and the team, the fifth annual DTU Football Tournament will leave good impression on the spectators”.
There were 16 teams from many DTU departments and faculties competing in the tournament. They were divided into four groups. The first and second teams in each group played each other and the four winners in the quarter-final round went into the semifinals. The winners of the semifinals competed in the finals.

Two matches opened the tournament: DTU Natural Sciences and R&D+Environmental Studies+CIT; DTU Civil Engineering and NTT+Office of Science Technology+Office of Facilities and Equipment. The R&D+Environmental Studies+CIT team defeated DTU Natural Sciences, with a score of 5-2, while DTU Civil Engineering won the match, scoring eight goals.
Playing football has been encouraged at DTU for years. The Sixth Annual DTU Football Tournament was not only to improve awareness of sports but also to bring the DTU faculty and staff closer together.
