On 25th April, fifty students from local software companies and IT management agencies attended the closing ceremony of the two-week “Software Project Management” and “Software Testing” courses. The ceremony was held in collaboration with the Danang Information and Communications Department. Participants included Distinguished Teacher Le Cong Co, DTU President, Mr. Tran Van Dung, Vice-Director of the Danang Management Board of IT Development Projects, Mr. Nguyen Hoai Duc of the Danang Information Technology Office, Mr. Nguyen Duc Man, Dean of the DTU International School, Mr. Nguyen Kim Giang, Director of the DTU FastTrak Center, Mr. Roger L.Cox, and DTU faculty.
“Software Project Management” and “Software Testing” courses were short-term courses and components of the Danang Information Technology and Communications (ITC) Development project, funded by the World Bank. The two courses took place from 7th to 25th April. Mr. Roger L. Cox taught the courses, assisted by DTU lecturers. Mr. Cox has 42 years experience teaching at various American universities and 12 years at the Microsoft Corporation.

At the ceremony, Mr. Vo Van Luong and Mr. Nguyen Duc Man summed up the courses. Mr. Vo Van Luong, said that they were collaboration with the Department of Project Management, based on the CMU program. Compared to previous ones, this year’s courses were more successful, with 100% of the students being granted CMU certificates. Additionally, students were able to study online instead of attending the classes.
On behalf of the Danang Department of Information and Communications, Mr. Tran Van Dung expressed his thanks to Mr. Le Cong Co and the DTU faculty. He said: “As well as investing in IT infrastructures, the local government also concerns itself with software training for local companies, with the aim of exporting software produced in Danang. We have great confidence in DTU’s teaching methods, and the success of these two courses is evidence of this. I would like to thank DTU for offering us certified lecturers and innovative teaching methods to provide the students with such vital knowledge”.

Mr. Le Cong Co added: “DTU has provided ideal conditions by selecting certified faculty and collaborating with international lecturers to make these courses successful. In just two weeks, students have had the opportunity to access a new curriculum with interesting lessons taught in English. We hope you will practice your English and learn more about technology. Hopefully, you will implement the information acquired during these courses effectively in your current and future work”.
At the ceremony, Ms. Le Nguyen Da Hien, from the Software Project Management class and Ms.Ta To Nhu of the Software Testing class received awards for their high performances. Representatives from the Project Management Department and DTU also awarded certificates of completion and gifts to the fifty students.
