The Ministry of Science and Technology, in collaboration with the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research, held a Biotech conference from the 14th to the 17th of January in Hanoi. Dr. Nguyen Minh Hung and Dr. Nguyen Thanh Trung, from the Center for Research and Development at Duy Tan University, attended the conference.

Entitled “Applications of Biotechnology in Agriculture, Health and Environmental Protection”, the four-day conference focused on the utilization of new biological techniques to sterilize soil and process wastewater.

At the conference, Dr. Hung reported the results of a study on the regulation of plant organ size development, one of the most important aspects related to biomass accumulation. This work could provide a foundation for cooperation with German scientists in the near future.
