Conference on Student Scientific Research held at DTU

“Both old and new DTU students are innovative,” confirmed Mr. Le Cong Co, DTU Chairman & Provost, at the Student Scientific Research Conference on June 9. Attendees included the Faculty of Science and Training and all the students.

Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Minh reports to the conference

Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Minh, DTU Vice-Provost and Vice-Chairman of Science and Training, said that, in the academic year 2010-2011, forty-two out of ninety-five application for scientific research projects were approved, compared to fifty-one out of one-hundred and forty-three this year. The conference was aimed to “encourage more students to dedicate themselves to scientific research. If we succeed in doing this, a new era will open up for us in the 21st century.

The results of eleven projects were presented at the conference. Two of these were specially chosen to compete in Student Scientific Research Competition held by MOET. Dr. Minh said: “These statistics demonstrate the increased number of DTU students in doing scientific research. Some of the projects have focused on current, real-time issues. In order to have higher standard projects, students need the support of the DTU faculty and staff”. The Scientific Research Club for Youth with its board of consultants and the Joint Committee will advise students on how to conduct more practical projects.

The signing ceremony at the conference

The signing ceremony of the Joint Committee and the announcement of the Scientific Research Club for Youth took place at the same time.

Hopefully, more research will encourage students and faculty to cooperate with each other to establish DTU as a center of scientific research.
