On behalf of the State President, the Deputy Minister of Education, Dr. Bui Van Ga, recently awarded the title of "Distinguished Teacher" to Mr. Le Cong Co, DTU President & Provost.
Mr. Le Cong Co was the former President of the Student Liberation Association of the Central area from 1963 to 1966, former Secretary of the Danang Youth Association from 1964-1965 and former Secretary of the Youth Mobilization Board and the Thua Thien-Hue Youth Association from 1969 to 1972. After 1975, he was the Standing Deputy-President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Quang Nam-Danang province, a Member of the National Assembly Session VIII, General Secretary of Hue University from 1972 to 1976 and Secretary of the Hue Youth Association. He founded Duy Tan University in 1994. At the same time, he was Member of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Study Encouragement Association from 1996 to 2008 and has been Deputy-President of the Vietnam Association of Private Universities and Colleges since 2004.
Distinguished Teacher , Mr. Le Cong Co
Under the leadership of Mr. Le Cong Co, Duy Tan University has become the first and largest private university in the Central area of Vietnam, with more than eight hundred lecturers and staff and over twenty thousand students. Offering fifteen graduate courses, Duy Tan University provided the local labor market with thirty thousand post-graduates and graduates of Engineering, Architecture, IT, Business Management and Accounting. Deputy Minister Bui Van Ga awards the title of Distinguished Teacher to Mr. Le Cong Co
The sustainable development and recent great achievements of Duy Tan University bear the hallmarks of Mr. Le Cong Co, a faithful soldier in the resistance and a model teacher in peacetime. The title of Distinguished Teacher is a worthy award for his devotion to national education.
Sharing the happiness of Mr. Le Cong Co, Deputy Minister Bui Van Ga added: “Several weeks ago, I came to Duy Tan University to inspect the implementation of Instruction 296/CT-TTg, promulgated by the Prime Minister concerning Innovation in Educational Management from 2010 to 2012. I highly appreciated the innovative achievements of Duy Tan. I am here to congratulate Mr. Le Cong Co for what his university has achieved over the past eighteen years. The Ministry of Education has always appreciated the great efforts that Duy Tan University has made. Duy Tan is a prestigious community private university because its quality of education and the very high percentage of graduates quickly employed. The recent developments in research provide a solid foundation for the future. Hopefully, Duy Tan University will take its deserved place in the Vietnamese university system”.
