On 6th August 2009, DTU had a meeting with representative from SUN Vietnam on holding JEDI Program (Java Education & Development Initiative) for lecturers in Central Vietnam.
The representatives from DTU were M.A. Nguyen Gia Nhu- Dean of IT Faculty and M.A. Phan Van Son- Head of DTU’s Office. As for SUN Vietnam, Ms. Nguyen Thi Cam Nhung was the representative to attend this meeting.
SUN Vietnam is a joint-stock company which was established under the Sun Microsystems Information Technology Corporation and BT Frontline Corporation in Singapore. It now has the head offices in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Cam Nhung- Market Development Manager of SUN Vietnam said: SUN Vietnam has relations with many domestic and overseas Universities and has been searching for new cooperation in Vietnam. SUN’s experts will provide updated knowledge on Information Technology through online curriculum and lectures at class.
Representatives from DTU also showed its willingness to collaborate with SUN Vietnam with the hope that SUN will complete a suitable and detailed academic program so as to maintain the long lasting relation between the two sides.
To end the meeting, the both sides came to a unity to promote JEDI Course in the coming time and the agreement to open short-term courses on Information Technology for lecturers in Central Vietnam. Hopefully, this collaboration between DTU and SUN Vietnam will raise DTU’s position to be one of the top Universities on Information Technology in Vietnam.
