The State Council of Professorial Titles announced its 2021 list of accepted scientific journals, with the DTU Journal of Science & Technology now being recognized in two additional fields which can now be counted to accumulate extra publication points. These are Chemistry & Food Technology, and Construction & Architecture, worth from zero to 0.25 points each.

On December 12, after competing for more than one month, the CPR Heroes team from the DTU Faculty of Medicine were proclaimed winners of the 2021 Seed for Change 2021 contest, with their paper: “CPR and out-of-hospital survival rates”. Second and third prizes went to teams which also included students from the same faculty.

On December 11, 2021, Cheery Lady, a herbal tea that reduces menstrual pain was awarded a Consolation prize at the 2021 "Post-harvest Technology" contest, jointly held by the Youth Technological Promotion Center and HCMC University of Food Industry. The tea was created by DTU Chemistry, Medicine and Pharmacy researchers.

On December 22, 2021, the Danang People's Committee and the Tuoi Tre Newspaper held a ceremony to celebrate the 5th anniversary of the “I Love Danang” Gala Night and honor individuals and organizations who have made positive contributions to the development of the city. Dr. Pham Thi Anh Hong, who lecturers on Disaster and Preclinical Medicine in the DTU Faculty of Medicine, was included.

This year, despite the pandemic, DTU has continued to enable Health Science students to practice at local hospitals, and, at the same time, to concentrate on associated subjects such as Preventive Medicine to gain additional practical knowledge. The Covid-19 pandemic in Danang still shows no signs of abating. The city has implemented home-treatment and quarantine, but patient visits to medical centers continue to increase, for preparing medical declarations, for testing, or picking up quick test kits.
