On August 27 and 28, the city Youth Association Committee and DTU held the 2022 city level-I coach competition. After 17 consecutive tests, the nine Youth Union members from DTU were outstandingly accepted as level-I coaches for the city.
Contestants in the 2022 city level-I coach competition
The 2022 city level-I coach competition is a key event for the 66th Traditional Day of the Vietnam Youth Federation and for the 19th Danang Delegation to the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (for the 2022–2027 term). The organization of the event aimed to train and foster much-needed skills for Youth Union, Federation, and Pioneer Organization activities among Youth Union members, Federation members, and other young people, and to select the most outstanding candidates to complement the team of level-I coaches for the city, to prepare for the contest for level-I coaches for the country in 2022 and 2023. It was furthermore an opportunity for Youth Union and Federation members in the city to meet and exchange experience.
137 contestants - cadre members, Youth Union members, Federation members, and other young people from different districts; and Youth Union members, Federation members, and other young people from different universities, colleges, clubs, organizations, and other groups depending from the city Youth Association between 16 and 30 years old - took part in the contest. The contest was divided in four rounds named with slogans: Understand Theory (knowledge tests); Be Skilled (practical skill tests); Conquer Challenges (collective spirit and teamwork tests); and Overcome Yourself (advanced personal skill tests: eloquence, criticism, model design, dealing with situation). The organizers furthermore provided a space where level-I coaches for the country from Danang from all years could meet, reminisce, and share their ideas and experience for Federation work and the city youth movement.
Having gone through 17 consecutive tests in two days, 128 cadre members, Federation members, and other young people received certificates of merit from the city Youth Association Committee and were accepted as level-I coaches for the city. At the contest, the most outstanding individuals were furthermore honored:
? winner: Tran Yen Nhi from the Ngu Hanh Son district Youth Association Committee,
? first runner-up: Doan Thi Ban also from the Ngu Hanh Son district Youth Association Committee,
? second runner-up: Vo Ngoc Bao Quyen also from the Ngu Hanh Son district Youth Association Committee.

All nine participating Youth Union members from DTU were awarded the title. This was a good opportunity for them to improve their skills, meet people, learn, and exchange experience in Federation work and youth movement
“To meet the requirements to become level-I coaches for the city, contestants need to pass skill tests and master knowledge related to Party, Youth Union, and Federation, and on local culture, history, and geography,” Vietnam Youth Federation Central Presidium member, city Youth Union Deputy Secretary, and Danang Youth Federation Chairman Nguyen Ba Duan said on the practicalities of the contest. “Among these are practical skills closely linked to the realities of life, outdoor survival skills, and especially the skills to organize youth activities. The contest contributes to the training and fostering of youth leaders for the activities of Youth Union, Federation, and Pioneer Organization in Danang.”
