IT majors and the quality of education at DTU
In November 2020, Duy Tan University was reorganized into five member schools and two training institutes, as a foundation for future strategic development. The School of Computer Science offers several IT majors and the DTU International School offers advanced, high-quality international programs, in collaboration with Carnegie Mellon University, ranked fourth in IT education in America.

IT jobs with high starting salaries
DTU partners with Carnegie Mellon University to develop advanced programs
Jobs in Information Technology offer stable careers with excellent pay and are readily available to graduates entering the technology sector. Salaries fluctuate yearly, depending on employment trends but are generally some of the highest paid by sector. According to VietnamWorks, IT salaries range from $1,500 to $2,000 a month. For example:
- Blockchain specialists earn $2,000 a month, or 45 million vnd
- Data Technology/Back-end developers from $1,800 to $2,000 a month
- Big Data/Data Science/Software/Mobile engineers from $1,500 and up.
According to TopDev, in 2021 salaries for AI and Machine Learning engineers were $2,500 per month, and six out of ten IT jobs with the highest monthly salaries were Managers and Technology Architects. Chief Technology Officers (CTOs) and Chief Information Officers (CIOs) who earned the highest average monthly pay, at $5,776 a month, or 132 million VND. Typical salaries for new IT graduates can range anywhere from 8 million to 12 million VND, quickly increasing from 13 to 22 million after 2 to 4 years experience.

Understanding business requirements, DTU has implemented a strategy to ensure its students find immediate employment. In particular, DTU has obtained the highest level of American Accreditation (ABET) in six years, for Management Information Systems in 2019, and Software Engineering and Network Engineering in 2021, as a result of the partnership with Carnegie Mellon University, ranked fourth in IT education in the US. Several credits are taught in English by lecturers from American universities.
Meanwhile, DTU has implemented the CDIO teaching model which is used worldwide in technology and engineering education and enables students to develop a deeper understanding of the fundamentals required to become practicing professional engineers.
DTU IT gradates will receive ABET course completion certificates from the CMU Software Research Institute and are skilled in foreign languages, communication, teamworking, time management, public speaking and problem solving.

- Champions at the 2018 Imagine Cup Vietnam and People’s Choice awards Asia Pacific Imagine Cup
- Second prize in 2018 at the IdeaHunter contest, with the "Facebook Fanpage Management" project
- The ISITDTU team is one of the top Information Security teams in Vietnam, 59th in the 2021 CTF Time

DTU offers full scholarships every year to encourage high scoring enrollees which cover all tuition fees for applicants with a total three-subject High School Graduation examination score of 23 points or higher, as well as those who have won national and international awards.
