From 2nd-5th April, 2011, the Central Vietnam Robocon Competition was held at the Danang University gymnasium. Four teams, named DT-MAX, DT-SPEED, DT-RETURN and DT-14VT, competed from DTU.
The DTU teams performed well, although they were facing other strong competitors, including the Danang Polytechnic University and the School of Command Technology. The DT-SPEED and DT-MAX teams defeated several others to advance to the second round. However, DT-MAX was the only DTU team to reach the finals.

In the final round, DT-MAX met BK-WIKING of the Danang Polytechnic University, CTTT 11 and SQ-PRV from School of Command Technology. DT-MAX succeeded in defeating the CTTT 11 with 3 points and tied with SQ-PRV. However, it lost the championship in the final match with BK-WIKING, despite the huge efforts all the DTU team members and their supporters.
There were 38 teams from 13 areas of Central Vietnam competing in Robicom 2011. The six best will compete in the national finals round to be held in Danang in May. “Loy Krathong - Friendship Begets Joy” was the theme selected, which was based on the traditional Loy Krathong event in Thailand.
