On March 25, 2026, Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) released the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2026. For each broad academic area, QS publishes both an overall ranking and rankings for 55 specific subjects. Vietnam has 13 higher education institutions featured in the rankings, with a total of 23 subjects ranked.

The 2026 subject rankings are based on data from 1,900 institutions worldwide, an increase of 300 institutions compared to 2025. QS evaluates university performance based on five criteria: Academic Reputation, Employer Reputation, Citations per Paper, H-index (which measures the productivity and impact of researchers’ publications), and International Research Network (IRN).
