DTU Offers Law and Economic Law Programs for 2026 Admissions

The Law and Economic Law programs at DTU have become preferred choices for many high-scoring students in Vietnam’s National High School Graduation Exams over the years.

This appeal comes from a modern, dynamic learning environment where legal knowledge is taught not only in the classroom but also through mock trials, debates, and practical legal projects based on real-world issues. In this inspiring learning environment, DTU students have made their mark with outstanding academic results and numerous awards in prestigious competitions.

In-depth partnerships with legal organizations

On June 11, 2024, the Executive Board of the Network of Law Training Institutions in Vietnam officially recognized DTU as a member of the network. The organization connects law schools nationwide, creating opportunities to exchange expertise, support legal education and research, and contribute to the development of high-quality legal professionals for society.

This recognition reflects the strong quality of DTU’s legal education and demonstrates the university’s sustained efforts to integrate into Vietnam’s legal education ecosystem.

Partnerships strengthen Law and Economic Law students’ capabilities

DTU also continuously strengthens partnerships with professional organizations in the legal field to bring students closer to the real-world legal environment, where knowledge is tested through practice and professional skills are developed right in the classroom.

Most recently, DTU has signed cooperation agreements with:

- MKLAW Limited Liability Law Company
- Vietnam Lawyers Magazine
- KPK Law Company
- Tien Giang International Commercial Arbitration Center in Danang.

At the same time, DTU maintains strong connections with many judicial agencies and legal organizations in Danang, including the Civil Judgment Enforcement Department, the Second Appellate Court under the Supreme People’s Court, and various law offices to create opportunities for students to participate in field observations, internships, and career connections after graduation.

Bringing legal education closer to real-life practice

The mock trial activities organized by the Faculty of Law, DTU School of Languages, Humanities & Social Sciences (LHSS) bring a new level of excitement to the study of law-an academic field often perceived as highly theoretical and filled with complex legal provisions. Here, students do not simply study law; they experience it firsthand by taking on roles such as:

- Judge
- Prosecutor
- Lawyer
- Court Clerk
- Defendant
- Victim

These mock trials help students develop essential skills in the legal field

These “mini courtrooms” feature practical topics, including:

- “Students and violent behavior”,
- “Illegal organization of drug use”.

These mock trials consistently attract strong interest from students and large audiences. These simulated court sessions become particularly engaging when based on real-life situations involving conflicts of interest and social disputes. They help DTU law students gain a deeper understanding of criminal litigation procedures while also providing valuable opportunities to develop debating skills, critical thinking, and adaptability - qualities widely regarded as essential “weapons” in the legal profession.

“Studying law would be extremely boring if you confined yourself only to legal texts. A good law student must not only understand the law but also know how to apply it in real life,” said Dr. Ho Minh Khanh, lawyer and lecturer of the DTU Faculty of Law.

Beyond courtroom simulations, the learning environment at the DTU Faculty of Law is further enriched through:

- Legal forums
- Advanced litigation skills classes
- Short courses on critical thinking
- Seminars with practicing lawyers and legal experts.

These activities help bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world practice, allowing students to better understand the demanding nature of the legal profession - a field that requires not only strong knowledge but also integrity, ethics, and accountability in every legal decision.

DTU students earn many awards in legal academic competitions

At the 2025 Vietnam Commercial Mediation Competition, a large-scale academic law competition organized by the Vietnam International Commercial Mediation Center (VICMC) in collaboration with the Vietnam Mediation Center (VMC), Men served as a lawyer representing a business. Together with her teammates, she successfully defended the company’s legitimate rights and interests, earning a Silver Medal. Notably, the competition attracted 733 contestants from 201 teams representing 28 universities and law training institutions nationwide.

Ly Thi Men shared: “Alongside my studies, I began an internship at the Son Tra District People’s Court during the summer semester of my second year, where I gained many valuable experiences. I was able to observe court proceedings, review real case files, draft legal documents such as legal notices, court decisions, and judgments, and learn how a judicial agency operates. Those days of practical training became a true training ground that helped me sharpen my ability to analyze case files, develop legal arguments, and build the professionalism required of a law student.

Moreover, the dedication and enthusiasm of the lecturers in the Faculty of Law, who not only impart knowledge but also inspire a passion for the profession, have helped me clearly define my career path. With the aspiration to contribute to justice and create positive value for the community, I will continue striving every day to improve myself and pursue the ideals I have chosen.”

The dynamic academic environment at DTU has helped students achieve meaningful prizes in various law competitions, including:

- Third prize and the Best Costume Award at the Student Innovation & Intellectual Property Competition
- Second prize at the Student Innovation & Intellectual Property Competition 2021
