Blending logic and creativity in Architecture
Vo Thi Kim Khanh, from Phu Bai high school in Hue, earned 26/30 points on the Math-Physics-Drawing subject set. With her achievement, Kim Khanh earned a full-tuition scholarship when she enrolled at DTU for Architecture. The scholarship is recognition of her twelve years of academic efforts and her determination to become an architect.
Inspired by her grandfather, Kim Khanh identified architecture early on as the career path she wanted to pursue. What attracts her to the field is the combination of two seemingly contrasting worlds: the logic of mathematics and physics and the creativity of visual art.
“Math and physics help me see things more realistically,” Kim Khanh explains, “while drawing nurtures my imagination to grow more expansive, dreamier, with a more optimistic outlook on life. I think a good architect needs both elements.”
By choosing Architecture, Kim Khanh does not consider gender a barrier to pursuing her passion. In her view, women have their own advantages: their sensitivity to color, space, and aesthetics - alongside other common challenges of the profession that require hard work from both men and women.
True to her self-description as independent, persistent, and responsible, Kim Khanh registered DTU as her first choice for her college journey.
“My parents respect and support our decisions,” Kim Khanh explains. “After I did some research, it was DTU’s dynamic learning environment, modern facilities, and especially its practice-focused curriculum that convinced me.
“The quality of education and the high employment rate among graduates gave me even more confidence in my choice.”
When the young Kim Khanh from the former imperial capital came to DTU to study Architecture, she was guided by a quote that has always motivated her: “To achieve goals you’ve never achieved before, you need to start doing things you’ve never done before.”
From quiet moments to a passion for interior design
After being admitted to DTU’s Interior Design program, Ngo Hue Man received an entrance scholarship from the university, opening a new chapter in her journey to fulfill her dream of becoming an interior designer.
This was a well-deserved reward for the hard work she put into senior high. She previously won second prize in the 2025-2026 Danang city Skilled Student contest.

A rather reserved young woman, Hue Man regularly gives herself quiet time to study, observe, and reflect.
“I have a habit of taking things slowly, thinking carefully, and not giving up easily when faced with difficult problems,” Hue Man says. “I always try to master the fundamentals, take time to do the exercises on my own, and explore them until I truly understand the essence of the issues.
“When an exercise is difficult, I don’t give up but I persist in trying myself or I study the teachers’ solution to better understand the reasoning and to solve it as well as possible.”
Perhaps it was also through these quiet moments that Hue Man realized architecture - and especially interior design - suits her well. It is an area where ideas require not only creativity but also the ability to observe, reflect, and delve deeply into every detail.
“I hope to become a creative interior designer in the future and create spaces that bear my own personal touch,” Hue Man affirms. “That’s why I set myself the goal of studying Architecture at DTU when I started 12th grade.
“My family and I were impressed by the university’s facilities and training programs.
“I hope that my years here will help me gain a lot of knowledge, experience, and skills to gradually reach the dream I’ve been pursuing.”
When she learned that she had been admitted to DTU for Interior Design and that she would receive an entrance scholarship, Hue Man could not hide her happiness and surprise.
From now on, ideas that she has been nurturing in her mind will have the opportunity to become inspiring designs, opening a new chapter in which she can freely explore, create, and gradually realize her dream of spaces with a personal touch.
