A Meeting between DTU and the Staff of Local Medical Services
Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Minh, DTU Vice-Provost and Dean of the Department of Medicine said: “During the academic year 2012-2013, DTU is offering new programs in the field of Medicine and enrollment has grown steadily. We hope that more visiting lecturers will come to teach at DTU soon”.
After a presentation by Dr. Minh, Dr. Le Van Truyen on DTU’s history over the past eighteen years and its new plans to develop the Department of Medicine, with over fifty years experience working in medicine, Dr. Truyen expressed his appreciation of DTU’s mission to graduate qualified specialists to meet the significant local demand for medical services. “It took me three years to set up the Department of Medicine at Hue University. At the beginning, we had many problems and there were only forty students at the beginning. The one hundred and eighty enrolments at DTU are impressive but it could mean a lot more work in the immediate future. Despite some negative opinions I highly recommended that you prevail in your mission to develop a new medical labor force in Medical Studies in the Central Vietnam”.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Ba, Dean of Medicine at the Hoan My Hospital said: “Many medical graduates lack skills in communication, English and state-of-the-art medical treatment. DTU should provide solutions to satisfy future needs.
