The Well-Rounded prize is the highest honor of the festival, awarded to students with the highest overall scores across all competition categories, including Quick Design A & B, Sketching, and Graphic Design. Among the 20 students recognized with this prestigious award, Nguyen Gia Dinh, a third-year Architecture student at DTU, stood out with exceptional performance.

Nguyen Gia Dinh also won Quick Design A First prize with the project “Station,” a shared space model for future universities. The project was highly praised for its flexible design concept, using circular modular systems combined with green spaces to create an environmentally friendly and sustainable setting. The interior is organized as a multifunctional space that supports studying, relaxation, and interaction, encouraging knowledge exchange among users.

“Beyond aesthetics, the ‘Station’ project emphasizes operational feasibility, connectivity with surrounding areas, and future scalability, aligned with the vision of building learning and community spaces in the technological era,” Gia Dinh shared.

Nguyen Hoang Dieu Hien - Quick Design B First prize

With the project “Living-Underground,” fourth-year Architecture student Nguyen Hoang Dieu Hien and her team proposed a symbiotic underground ecosystem where nature, daily life, and economic activities are harmoniously integrated.

The project centers on a human-focused underground system. By bringing natural light underground, it blurs the boundary between “above” and “below,” creating a sustainable and green urban space. Integrated commercial amenities help attract community engagement, turning human activity itself into the energy that sustains and enlivens the space.

“Participating in the festival helped me grow significantly. I developed teamwork skills and learned how to leverage my strengths to contribute effectively. This award reflects my efforts and the right direction I’ve taken in studying architecture. I’m deeply grateful to the lecturers at the DTU School of Engineering & Technology for their dedicated guidance and valuable experience sharing,” Dieu Hien said.

Nguyen Thi Diem Quyen - Quick Design B Third prize

Fourth-year Architecture student Nguyen Thi Diem Quyen and her team presented the project “Eco Lab Urban Factory,” a proposal to sustainably restructure the Ben Cat urban area.

The project focuses on developing a flexible “Blue-Green” landscape buffer, applying the “cut-and-fill” principle to transform the boundary between residential and industrial zones into an open ecosystem. Through natural retention lakes, multi-layered forests, and “soft walls,” the design helps manage water, filter air, and improve environmental quality.

“The festival gave us the opportunity to develop flexible thinking, improve responsiveness, and enhance problem-solving skills. We also connected with new peers, exchanged ideas, and broadened our perspectives in design. It was truly a journey of self-growth and professional preparation,” Diem Quyen shared.

In addition to academic achievements, the DTU student delegation also demonstrated strong team spirit and energy by winning Second prize in Men’s Football, a new competition category introduced at the festival.

Leading the delegation, MSc. Architect Hoang Ha, Deputy Head of the Faculty of Architecture, DTU School of Engineering & Technology, said: “The theme ‘Architecture in the Technological Era’ posed comprehensive challenges, requiring participants to demonstrate creativity, adaptability, and innovation. DTU students’ impressive achievements, including the Grand Prize and multiple top awards, not only affirm their professional competence but also reflect the university’s strong technology-oriented training approach. These results are the outcome of thorough preparation, proactive attitudes, and the ability to perform effectively under pressure, meeting the evolving demands of architecture in the digital era.”
