In August and September 2026, eight students from the Hospitality and Tourism Institute (HTi) at Duy Tan University traveled to Singapore to begin six-month international internships at Pullman Singapore Hill Street and Furama RiverFront Singapore. They will receive monthly salaries ranging from SGD 1,500 to SGD 1,800, equivalent to approximately VND 31-37 million.

For DTU Hospitality and Tourism students, international internships are gradually becoming an integral part of their educational journey, combining classroom learning with hands-on professional training and international experience while they are still at university.

Eight DTU students travel to Singapore for international internships

- Le Thi Thu Ny, Luong Thi Minh Thu, and Duong Ton Minh Ngoc, students in the PSU-standard International Restaurant Management program, and Le Thanh Chung Anh, a Cultural Tourism student, are interning at Pullman Singapore Hill Street.
- Nguyen Xuan Truong, a student in the PSU-standard International Restaurant Management program; Phung Thi Ngoc Diep, a Hotel Management student; Nguyen Le Huyen Trang, an English-language International Tour Guiding student; and Do Van Lenh, a Tourism and Travel Management student, are interning at Furama RiverFront Singapore.

Working in departments ranging from Food and Beverage and Front Office to Housekeeping, the DTU students will participate directly in hotel operations while improving their foreign-language proficiency, communication skills, adaptability, and professional conduct in a multicultural hospitality environment.

Notably, DTU is classified in Group A on the list of educational institutions recognized by Singapore’s Ministry of Manpower (MOM) under Criterion C2 – Qualifications - of the Complementarity Assessment Framework (COMPASS). Accordingly, bachelor’s degrees or higher awarded by any DTU faculty qualify for 20 points under this criterion when candidates meet the eligibility requirements for an Employment Pass. DTU is also one of only three Vietnamese higher education institutions included on the list.

This recognition does not directly provide “bonus visa points” for the internship program. Rather, it gives DTU graduates an academic qualification advantage and opens up further opportunities for those seeking to pursue careers in Singapore after graduation.

From Singapore and Hong Kong to exchange and internship programs in many other countries, the Go Global journey at DTU Hospitality and Tourism Institute is no longer a distant aspiration. Clear pathways are being developed and expanded each year, enabling students to learn with greater confidence, gain broader experience, and prepare for careers that transcend national borders.
