DTU Robocon Team’s Impressive First Round Performance

The National Finals of the 2012 Robocon Contest took place at the Seventh Military Zone Stadium in Ho Chi Minh City. The Titan 1 team representing Duy Tan University competed with other universities and colleges from across Vietnam.

DT-Titan 1 was grouped in section E with CÐN Daklak, BK Vision and LH-King Omega. Coincidentally, with the exception of LH-King Omega, all these teams had already met in the Central Vietnam qualifying rounds.

In the first round, DT-Titan 1 demonstrated their ability with a “Peng on dai gat”, beating BK-Vision, one of three teams from Danang Polytechnic University. There were more challenges ahead in the second round against LH-King Omega because DT - Titan 1 was under pressure to reach the final sixteen in their next match with CÐN Daklak.  

It was a heart-stopping, close contest, with lots of excitement for the audience. In the first few minutes, CÐN Daklak took some chances and scored with its hand-controlled robot. However, perseverance and determination are required to win any Robocon contest, and, with great effort, DT-Titan 1 succeeded in grabbing the last dumpling after 131 seconds to win another “Peng on dai gat”.

With this win, DT-Titan then defeated LH-King Omega and BK-Vision and was ranked number one, with a score of 6 and 610 bonuses. This was a great encouragement for the DTU team entering the Finals with 15 other teams.
