The Study Abroad Aide (SAA) University Database Group recently released its Best University Rankings in Asia 2025 for International Students. Among the 72 Vietnamese universities included in the rankings, six universities were listed in the Top 500 in Asia.
The Top 10 Vietnamese universities are as follows:
- Vietnam National University, Hanoi: ranked 188th in Asia, Top 6%.
- Duy Tan University: ranked 290th in Asia, Top 9%.
- Hanoi University of Science and Technology: ranked 380th in Asia, Top 11%.
- Nguyen Tat Thanh University: ranked 408th in Asia, Top 12%.
- HCMC University of Technology (HUTECH): ranked 414th in Asia, Top 12%.
- HCMC University of Technology – Vietnam National University: ranked 415th in Asia, Top 12%.
- Can Tho University: ranked 564th in Asia, Top 16%.
- University of Economics HCMC: ranked 623rd in Asia, Top 18%.
- National Economics University: ranked 749th in Asia, Top 22%.
- International University – Vietnam National University, HCMC: ranked 813th in Asia, Top 23%.
Studying abroad is an essential part of education, sought after by many students for knowledge accumulation and job opportunities. Beyond world-class education, Asia offers countless opportunities for cultural exploration and personal growth. Against this backdrop, Study Abroad Aide has collected and analyzed data from 3,559 outstanding educational institutions across 24 countries in Asia, excelling in both academic quality and student-friendly environments, to create the Best Value Universities in Asia for International Students rankings. This ranking serves as a valuable resource for students planning to study or participate in exchange programs abroad.
This year's ranking by Study Abroad Aide (SAA) focuses on addressing the practical needs of international students by offering objective insights into universities worldwide from various perspectives such as performance, value, and affordability. The aim is to provide international students with opportunities to gain excellent academic experience at a fair price. Study Abroad Aide ranked all universities around the world based on two metrics:
- Academic Reputation, which accounts for 75% of the evaluation, and
- Affordability, which makes up 25%.
This approach helps ensure that the rankings offer a balanced view of both the quality of education and the economic accessibility of universities for students from various backgrounds.
The StudyAbroadAide Database Team collects the following information:
- Official University Website
- Location
- University Type
- Admission pages
- Tuition fees
- Required English Proficiency Test Scores
- Several courses offered for Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees
To provide an accurate platform to aspiring international students, the database team uses various factors in ranking institutions, specifically:
Reputation: To measure academic reputation, the database team collected the world rankings of each university from well-known and credible institution ranking bodies, such as Times Higher Education World University Rankings, QS World University Rankings, and U.S. News & World Report Best Colleges.
International Student Body: The number of international student enrollments per year will gauge how easily adaptable the university’s approach is for international students despite their differing races, backgrounds, and culture.
Total Enrollment: The total enrollment numbers are composed of all students, including domestic and international students. It reflects the university’s quality, as students are intrinsically attracted to prestigious and reputable institutions. It is based on the fact that top-performing educational institutions produce high enrollment rates.
Over the years, DTU has established itself as a prestigious educational institution, attracting a large number of international students for regular degree programs and various exchange and cultural interaction programs.
Currently, the university has:
- 59 students from Sun Moon University (Korea) participated in the Green Steps program at DTU in 2023 – 2024,
- 33 students from Singapore Polytechnic joined the Learning Express academic train program in 2023,
- 30 students from Sun Moon University engaged in an exchange semester in winter 2023,
- 22 students from Queensland University of Technology (Australia) participated in cultural exchange programs in 2024,
- 24 students from Incheon National University (Korea) joined research projects at DTU in 2024,
- 130 students from the UK, Scotland, Singapore, Cambodia, and Australia participated in the INCiTE Summer School Program.
- Nearly 1,000 students from Southeast Asia (Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Thailand, etc.) joined exchange and cultural programs at DTU through Passage to ASEAN (P2A) in 2024,
- Over 50 Korean students participated in cultural and art exchange events at DTU.
- Students and researchers from Japan, Korea, Nepal, India, Germany, France, Poland, the U.S., and other countries engaged in semester exchanges, internships, research projects, and postdoctoral programs at DTU.
