DTU Lecturers Receives Training Program Transfer Certificate from Purdue University Northwest

After a month of training with professors from Purdue University Northwest (PNU) - USA, DTU lecturers and staff were awarded certificates for the transfer of Purdue University Northwest's training programs for two courses: Machine Elements and Renewable Energy. These are two important courses within the curriculum for students in the PNU-standard Electrical & Electronics Engineering and PNU-standard Mechatronics programs at DTU.

Professor Dr. Athula Kulatunga conducted training for DTU lecturers and staff, covering fascinating topics in the Renewable Energy course

DTU has partnered with Purdue University Northwest to transfer advanced training programs in Electrical & Electronics Engineering and Mechatronics since 2015. Every year, the lecturers and staff from the DTU Faculty of Electrical & Electronics Engineering, the DTU Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, and the DTU Center for Electrical & Electronics (CEE) participate in many training programs with professors from Purdue University to effectively implement the PNU-standard Advanced and International programs at DTU.

This training session involved 12 lecturers and staff from the DTU Faculty of Electrical & Electronics Engineering, the DTU Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, and the DTU Center for Electrical & Electronics.

Under the guidance of Professor Dr. Hassan Hayajneh and Professor Dr. Athula Kulatunga from Purdue University Northwest, DTU lecturers and staff were trained in specific content related to the syllabi, textbooks, lectures, lab exercises, assignments, and exams for the two courses: Machine Elements and Renewable Energy. Upon completing a month training programme, the DTU staff and lecturers were awarded certificates for these two courses by Purdue University Northwest. The knowledge and skills gained from this training will be applied in teaching students enrolling in the PNU-standard programs in the upcoming semester.

Nguyen Thanh Nam, a Specialist at the DTU Center for Electrical & Electronics, said: “This training with American professors was an opportunity for me and my colleagues to access advanced teaching methods, the latest trends in our field, and learn from the practical experiences shared by the professors. Each class and lecture contributed to enhancing our professional skills and creativity. By applying the content learned from the Purdue University Northwest professors to design lectures and develop teaching methods, I believe that students in the PNU-standard Advanced and International programs at DTU will experience the most effective and high-quality learning sessions, fully aligned with international standards.”

Receiving the training program transfer certificates from Purdue University Northwest marks a significant step forward in improving the quality of education at DTU, which enables students to access advanced and internationally-oriented training programs. It not only reaffirms DTU's commitment to improving educational quality but also opens up numerous learning and research opportunities for students, contributing to the development of a highly skilled workforce for the nation.
