On June 26, DTU was honored to host the 2023 Blue Ladder Project together with SunMoon University from Korea. Attendees included Mr. Suyang Cho, Head of International Relations of SunMoon; Dr. Nguyen Huu Phu, DTU Vice-Provost; thirty-five students from SunMoon; DTU lecturers, staff and students of Foreign Languages & Social Humanities.
Mr. Suyang Cho said: “This project has been launched by SunMoon at universities and colleges around the world, enabling Korean students to experience the cultures, languages and people in various countries. We hope that the Blue Ladder Project and ensuing networking activities will strengthen the relationship between DTU and SunMoon, and that there will be many more similar opportunities for long-term cooperation in the future."

From June 25 to July 22, Sun Moon University students will learn about the characteristics of the life in Vietnam, through visits to Hue, Danang, and Quang Nam, which will allow the Korean students a chance to view the local customs, habits and language of Central Vietnam. Activities include Vietnamese language lessons, the “Vietnamese King” game show, the “Free Talk” cultural exchange, a visit to a local market, and how to cook mi Quang noodles.

Nguyen Duc Anh Tuan, Deputy-Head of the DTU International Relations Department, said: “SunMoon University students will travel to the ancient capital of Hue, to Danang and Quang Nam, with trips to places such as Hoi An ancient town, Cham island, the My Son holy land, the Phu Ninh dam, and traditional craft villages in Hue. We will also be arranging Vietnamese language classes and cultural activities, on cooking Quang noodles, participating in music performances and so on. I believe that, through our program, students will gain a clearer understanding of the Vietnamese culture and make new friends here. This summer will be memorable and, on behalf of the organizers, I wish the students a happy and safe journey.”
