DTU Leads in CWUR and URAP Rankings

CWUR and URAP have announced the world’s top universities in 2022. DTU, the private, multidisciplinary and diversified institution in Central Vietnam, has recorded the most significant rise in these two university rankings.
Ranked 1st in Vietnam and 1.140th worldwide in CWUR
A total of six Vietnamese universities have been named in the global list of the world’s top 2,000 universities for the 2022 to 2023 edition, as released by the Center of World University Rankings (CWUR).

Top 6 Vietnamese universities in the CWUR’s 2,000 Best Universities 
The top 6 universities in Vietnam in 2022-2023 by CWUR:
- DTU # 1,140 worldwide,
- Ton Duc Thang # 1,199 worldwide,
- VNU Hanoi # 1,204 worldwide,
- VNU HCM City # 1,492 worldwide,
- Hanoi University of Science and Technology # 1,958 worldwide,
- Hanoi Medical University # 1,994 worldwide.
DTU has recorded the most significant rise, moving up 342 positions to come out top in the national rankings and is placed 1,140th in the world. Ton Duc Thang University is in second place for Vietnamese institutions and stands at 1,199 globally. VNU HCM City jumps 127 ranks and VNU Hanoi climbs 62 places, whereas the Hanoi University of Science and Technology drops 4 positions. This year’s version of the list also marks the first time that the Hanoi Medical University has made the global 2,000 list (at 1,994)

CWUR is now the largest international university ranker. The CWUR’s rankings are based on four criteria: 
- Quality of education (25%), 
- Alumni employment (25%), 
- Quality of faculty (10%), and 
- Research performance (40%) 
Ranked 2nd in Vietnam and 446th worldwide in URAP
The organization University Ranking by Academic Performance (URAP) has just announced the world’s top 3,002 universities in 2022. Seventeen Vietnamese universities were listed, an increase of 5 compared to December 2021. 
Top 10 universities in URAP ranking:  
1. Ton Duc Thang University is ranked 427th,
2. Duy Tan University is ranked 446th,
3. The Vietnam National University - HCMC is ranked 1013th,
4. The Vietnam National University - Hanoi is ranked 1104th,
5. The Hanoi Medical University is ranked 1235th,
6. Hanoi University of Science and Technology is ranked 1379th,
7. Nguyen Tat Thanh University is ranked 1526th,
8. Hue University is ranked 2178th,
9. Ho Chi Minh City University of Technology is ranked 2203rd,
10. Can Tho University is ranked 2291st.
Ton Duc Thang University and DTU are named in the global Top 500. The VNU in HCMC, the VNU in Hanoi, the Hanoi Medical University, Hanoi University of Science and Technology and Nguyen Tat Thanh University are ranked in the range from 1000 to 2000.
Thai Nguyen University, HCM City University of Technology, HCM City University of Industry, HCM City University of Technology and Education, Thuy Loi University, Hue University, and Can Tho University are ranked in the range from 2000 to 3000. 
URAP uses data from the Web of Science for ranking. The criteria measured are quantity and quality of scientific publications, the citation index and scientific impact, which are the main weightings in the assessment process. URAP works independently, without recourse to self-reporting by universities or through expert voting, and is becoming well-known for its objectivity.
