DTU makes it into the 2022 QS World University Rankings by Subject

Quacquarelli Symonds has just published their rankings of the world's strongest universities in 51 individual subject areas, grouped into five broad subject areas, namely Arts and Humanities, Engineering and Technology, Life Sciences and Medicine, Natural Sciences, and Social Sciences and Management.  
 
DTU makes it into the 2022 QS World University Rankings by Subject in Engineering and Technology (broad subject area) and in Computer Science and Information Systems and in Medicine (individual subject areas). The University is also the only private university in Vietnam to be ranked by the UK’s Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) this year.     
 
Vietnamese universities have shown strong performances in Engineering and Technology, including: 
1. The Hanoi University of Science and Technology was ranked 360th worldwide
2. The VNU, Ho Chi Minh City was ranked 362nd
3. The VNU, Hanoi was ranked 386th 
4. Duy Tan University ranked in the range 401- 450 worldwide,
5. Ton Duc Thang University: 401-450.

In Computer Science and Information Systems: 
 
1. The Hanoi University of Science and Technology: 401-450,
2. The VNU, Ho Chi Minh City: 401-450,
3. Duy Tan University: 501-550,

5. Ton Duc Thang University: 601-650.
 
In 2021, two Vietnamese universities entered the QS World University Rankings by Subject in Computer Science and Information Systems, including the Hanoi University of Science and Technology (551-600) and the VNU, Hanoi (601- 650).

Five components are used to rank universities in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2022: 
 
- Academic reputation. In 2022, the QS World University Rankings by Subject draws on responses from over 130,000?academics worldwide,
- Employer reputation. In the 2022 edition of this ranking, QS draws on nearly 75,000 survey responses from graduate employers worldwide.  
- Research citations per paper,
- H-index,
- International Research Network. Introduced this year, the IRN Index reflects the ability of institutions to diversify the geography of their international research network by establishing sustainable research partnerships with other higher education institutions.
