Achievements

 

The Vietnam TOEIC Ambassador appointment ceremony took place in the morning of February 24, at DTU’s Silver Swallows Studio, in the presence of IIG Vietnam representatives and the university leadership. This is the second time a DTU student has been awarded the esteemed title; the first was Tra Quoc Thinh (Tourism and Hotel Management), named TOEIC Ambassador of February 2021 with 905/990 points.

The value of the TOEIC certificate as an international-standard measure for English-language abilities has been confirmed for a long time. Khanh Nhimeticulously practiced until she was in her fourth year, when she finally tested her abilities in practice and became TOEIC ambassador after sitting the test for just the first time.

 

“I love the English language,” Khanh Nhi explains. “I’m very proud and elated with this meaningful title, and I’m lucky to get this high result after sitting the test the first time. Although it was my first time, I didn’t feel lost at the novelty, as I had trained the habit of making test exams to acquaint myself with the format and the time allotted for the test and to train reflexes for the test. Every week, I spent two hours on making test exams and actively correcting them. I found that way my scores improved considerably.”

 

At the January 2022 TOEIC Ambassador appointment ceremony, an IIG Vietnam representative awarded her with a TOEIC Ambassador certificate, a scholarship consisting of a Gmetrix account for practicing MOS office informatics tests, and a souvenir. Every month, based on TOEIC results and IIG’s evaluation criteria, IIG Vietnam selects onlyone students andone employed personin the entirety of Vietnam to appoint Vietnam TOEIC Ambassador.

 

With the meaningful message “Conquering TOEIC - Expanding your Career”, the program intends to encourage young people to practice the English language.

 

Stable employment even before graduation

 

Nhi enrolled in the DTU-PSU Tourism and Hotel Management major, an advanced program in partnership with Pennsylvania State University, one of the five leading universities Business Administration in the USA. Most of the subjects is taught in English by highly qualified Vietnamese and foreign lecturers.

 

“Studying a PSU-standard program, I have an opportunity to develop myself and improve my foreign-language, especially for specialized English,” Khanh Nhi affirms. “That makes me very confident when speaking with foreigners or when working at the Vinpearl Luxury Danang hotel.”

Khanh Nhi has been an official employee of the Vinpearl Luxury Danang front office department since November 2021. Her confident demeanor and her fluent English easily landed her a job she liked. After having worked at the reception of the five-star hotel for just one month, Khanh Nhi once more affirmed her abilities by taking home the first prize of Knowledgeable FO Elite, a contest held by the Vinpearl Luxury hotel chain for all its front office employees in many different cities.

 

“The knowledge I acquired at DTU is finding a huge lot of application in my current professional work,” Khanh Nhi explains. “At first I was a bit confused due it all being new to me, but I quickly got used to it due to the foundation I had and to the good service mindset I acquired studying at university. I feel lucky to have acquired what I need and to have been trained in-depth in professional skills.”

For the same occasion as the appointment of a DTU student as Vietnam TOEIC Ambassador, the educational organization IIG Vietnam also awarded an IIG commemorative award in token of the university’s capacity for English-language training.

 

“In the context of globalization and international integration, English, and especially international certificates of English, is an indispensible tool for young people,” Ms Nguyen Thi Lan Anh, Head of Project Development for IIG Vietnam, Danang branch, explained. “TOEIC is currently a prestigious standard to evaluate English abilities for communication and employment. This is the second time I have the honor to visit DTU for a TOEIC Ambassador appointment ceremony and Khanh Nhi is the second such Ambassador of the university. This shows DTU has a great many students with excellent foreign-language abilities, and many of them take the TOEIC test and obtain outstanding results. Today, I’d like to congratulate Khanh Nhi and I wish you continue practicing and honing your foreign-language skills for even better studies and work in the years ahead.”

 

The January 2022 Vietnam TOEIC Ambassador Khanh Nhi is testament to the foreign-language training quality at DTU. With her achievement, Khanh Nhi spreads the flame of passion for studying English and gives her peers the confidence to conquer the TOEIC international English-language standard, the key to leading companies and to realizing one’s career dreams in the future.
