On March 22, the Danang Youth Union celebrated the 91st Anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union and awarded “For the Young Generation” medals and “March 26 awards” to exemplary union members and young people.
Union members and young people affirmed that generations of Youth Union members are always loyal to the Party and are the Party’s right hand. During the event, the Danang Youth Union awarded “For the Young Generation” medals of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union to 10 individuals who greatly contributed to the Youth Union and “March 26 Awards” to 52 excellent union members for their union activities.

Dr. Vo Thanh Hai, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and DTU Vice-Provost, was awarded a “For the Young Generation” medal for his outstanding achievements in union work and in children and young people’s activities. Particularly, he accompanied every activity of the DTU Youth Union and helped the Youth Union be excellently leaders in union work and youth movement in Danang since 2017 and receive many certificates of merit from the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union.
For the last 5 years, the DTU Youth Union held 14 blood donations with more than 10,146 participants and collecting 5,300 blood units. Besides, various volunteering activities are regularly held. Scientific research projects have also been promoted. For example, from 2017 to now, there have been a total of 537 university-level scientific research projects, of which 111 won domestic prizes, 17 won international prizes, and 3 entered the finals of the Eureka Student Research contest in Ho Chi Minh City - and one of these three won the third prize. Many products of DTU students were selected for display at the Danang Startup Creative Ideas Festival and received first prizes. Especially, the Smart Bed project received the third prize at the 2020 National Startup Competition,

The annual “March 26 awards” are given to outstanding union members by the Danang Youth Union Standing Committee. This year, Nguyen Thi Thanh Hoa, secretary of the DTU Faculty of Business Administration, and Nguyen Huu Nghia, secretary of the DTU Faculty of Pharmacy, who had excellent results in both studying and union work and also made positive contributions to the prevention of the COVID-19 outbreak, were given this award.
Those who were honored in the ceremony have been trying their best to help the Youth Union grow stronger and will always be ready to dedicate their time and talents to support the party in developing the country.
