DTU collaborated with the AIA Insurance Company to hold the “Youth Entrepreneurship” awards ceremony and the “Dare to Dream to Start a Business” talkshow, in honor of the individuals and teams with “out-of-the-box” entrepreneurial mindsets who participated in the Youth Entrepreneurship contest.
The event was streamed live from the DTU Silver Swallow Studio. Attendees included Mr. Le Minh Don, AIA Exchange Central Region Sales Development Manager; Ms. Huynh Thanh Van, AIA Exchange Sales Manager in Area 2 of Danang; Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Phuong - AIA Exchange Sales Manager in Area 1 of Danang; Ms. Pham Thi Thanh Binh, Vice-Director and Co-founder of Thuan Binh Interior Design Company and a member of the Danang Young Entrepreneurs Association and DTU Alumni club; Dr. Hoang Thi Huong, Vice-Dean of DTU Foreign Language & Social Sciences; and DTU lecturers and students, who all viewed the event via Zoom and livestreaming, through the Social Sciences & Humanities Fanpage.
Mr. Le Minh Don talks
The contest was held to encourage entrepreneurship in the development of innovative new projects. Mr. Le Minh Don said: “Starting a business is a significant undertaking for everyone. The aim of this contest is to motivate young people to start up and manage their own successful businesses. We plan to continue working with DTU to contribute our small part in helping them achieve this."
There were over 1,000 entrants in the contest, 11 of whom received awards of excellence, including one first, two seconds, three thirds and five consolation prizes, worth a total of 15 million VND:
- A first prize went to Le Pham Thuc Quynh, from K25 PSU, with the “Tasty Pet Biscuits” project
- Two second prizes were awarded to Do Thi Phuong Dung, from K25 Tourism and Hospitality Management, with “God’s Studio” and to Duong Thi Kieu Oanh, from K25 Accounting and Auditing, with “A Tofu Store”
- Three third prizes went to Nguyen Manh Cuong, from K25 Foreign Trade, with the “Outfit Orchestrating and Fashion Ideas Sharing” app; to Phan Gia Kiet, from K25 PSU Tourism & Travel Management, with the “Outfit Orchestrating” app and to Tran Quang Thang, from K25 CMU, with the “Collar Monitoring and Caring for Pets” app
Le Pham Thuc Quynh talks
Le Pham Thuc Quynh adores her cute puppy but when she discovered that her pet was malnourished, she searched for information and decided to prepare some special food to make healthy pet cookies for all, and now has numerous regular customers.
Sharing her feelings about being the winner, Thuc Quynh said: “I was delighted and surprised to be awarded first prize. Actually, I joined the contest to prove that starting a business is not a major proposition, it just depends on whether you want to do it or not. When you resolve to begin, the ideas start falling into place if you remain committed."
