Prof. Dr. Jack Hawkins, Troy University Chancellor, sent Tran Cong Minh a congratulation letter to praise his successful graduation in Computer Science.
“Congratulations on completing the requirements to earn a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from Troy University. I regret that circumstances present me from presenting the enclosed diploma in person, but that does not diminish my pride in your achievement. It is my pleasure to welcome you to the alumni ranks of Troy University, which number more than 160,000 and can be found across the globe…”.
A letter of congratulations from Prof. Dr. Jack Hawkins, Troy University Chancellor, to Tran Cong Minh
In addition to the congratulatory letter from the Troy University Chancellor, Troy University Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Prof. Dr Lance Tatum, sent a letter with words of encouragement to each of this year’s graduates, including Tran Cong Minh, who graduated at the top of the first class:
“Congratulations on your well-deserved success. I am sure your graduation from our Computer Science program will be only the first of many proud, successful moments for you. Even though graduation is going to look different for you, the achievement is still the same. You have learnt and grown so much and we couldn’t be prouder of your accomplishments. You’re graduating at a difficult time, but I believe that better days are coming and your TROY degree will be of great benefit as you move into the world of work. We encourage you to stay connected with Troy University Alumni Association and when you travel to the United States, please make sure to visit us.
At my graduation, our commencement speaker challenged us to be lifelong learners, and that’s my advice for you as you graduate. Whatever you do, never stop learning, exploring, growing and challenging yourself to be your best. Again, congratulations”.
Le Viet Trieu and his team won a People’s Choice Awards accolade in the 2018 Microsoft Imagine Cup Asia Pacific finals, held in Malaysia.
“After graduating from high school and passing the university entrance exam, I chose DTU as I knew the university gained prestige for its IT training,” Le Viet Trieu, one of this year’s ten graduates, explains. “I was also very lucky to receive a full scholarship for the DTU American Degree Program in Computer Science. I am very happy and satisfied that my determination and efforts finally bore fruit. During my four years at DTU, the lecturers provided me with basic and foundational knowledge while also helping us broaden our knowledge in the directions we wished. I took part in several contests and won a first prize in the National Imagine Cup and a People’s Choice Award in the Asia–Pacific Imagine Cup regional finals sponsored by Microsoft. Before graduating, I already tried out working, and I’m currently a software engineer at the Danang International Airport.
Given this fact, I hope applicants would think carefully before choosing majors and universities for your higher education and future career path. When doing so, one should pay attention to training programs, infrastructure, and international collaborations to have opportunities for overseas studies or to study with international programs to acquire the most advanced knowledge. Entering university marks the first step; a university degree is good equipment for after; what you manage to do in the future depends on the efforts you make right now. Confidently choose a university that suits you and do your utmost.”
