On July 18, DTU and the Sekong Provincial Education and Sports Department, from Laos, signed a partnership agreement. Attendees included Mr. Khampay Sunivanh, Deputy-Director of the Sekong Provincial Education and Sports Department, his associates, and Dr. Nguyen Huu Phu, DTU Vice-Provost, DTU lecturers and staff.

DTU agreed to teach Vietnamese and several graduate and undergraduate programs, in addition to hosting cultural and educational exchanges with high schools from Sekong Province. DTU will award 4 full and 5 partial scholarships to Laotian undergraduate students.
“Over the years, DTU has partnered with many countries to improve the quality of education and broaden career opportunities for students.”, said Dr. Nguyen Huu Phu. “Today it is an honor for us to welcome and sign an agreement with Sekong Provincial Education and Sports, enabling our students to exchange information on their studies, cultures and career prospects.”

Mr. Sunivanh said: “We are very grateful for the warm welcome, the enthusiasm and, above all, for our successful, new partnership agreement with DTU. This agreement will provide the ideal educational environment exchanges and the development of highly-qualified human resources for Sekong province in particular, and for Laos in general. We will work closely together on cultural and educational exchanges to strengthen our relationship even more.”
The partners will mutually coordinate the education and management of the Laotian exchange students and identify and resolve any initial problems they may encounter living and studying at DTU.
