On August 27th, DTU hold the 9th Vietnam-Korea Green Chemistry Conference attracting around 100 specialists and chemists. This year’s topic is “Better life with green chemistry through collaboration of Vietnam and Korea”. The conference allowed Vietnamese, Korean, Thai, Russian, and other researchers to share their green chemistry research achievements with peers from all over the world

According to Mr Jin-Cheol Kim, Chairperson of the Board for International Collaboration of the Korean Society of Industrial and Engineering Chemistry (KSIEC), climate change and sustainable development were the two issues of primary global concern. It is estimated that the world population will exceed 9 billion by 2025, while pests and climate change are increasingly affecting food production. This is why developing and putting to use pesticides or biological origin is urgent now.
Over the years, scientists worldwide have joined hands to research sustainable alternative methods. Green chemistry is the result of this interdisciplinary research which can reduce the environmental impact of industrial chemicals.
Mr Jin-Cheol Kim believed that the collaboration between Vietnam and South Korea will bring positive results in green chemistry research and development, which helped improving living quality.
* On the same day, DTU hosted the Fourth International Conference of the European Alliance for Innovation (EAI) on Industrial Networks and Intelligent Systems (INISCOM 2018), which focused on Internet of Things (IoT) applications, aiming at improving people’s lives.
INISCOM was held in Tokyo in Japan in 2015; in Leicester in England in 2016; and in Ho Chi Minh City in 2017. Over fifty papers were submitted by authors from 21 nations, from which the organizers selected 27 papers for presentation. All these papers will be published by Springer and distributed through the SpringerLink digital library, one of the biggest scientific libraries worldwide
