On March 11th, the Institute Of Scientific Development for Economic And Cultural Human Resources held a ceremony in honor of President Ho Chi Minh and General Vo Nguyen Giap and to award the certificates of “2017 Exemplary Intellectuals”. The award was given to one hundred managers, social activists and intellectuals contributing to the socio-economic development of the country. Associate Professor Nguyen Ngoc Minh, DTU Vice-Provost, was one of them.

Assistant Professor Minh is well known as a physician of the people, a dedicated teacher who had many contributions to Health Sciences education.
During his 40 years of teaching at graduate and postgraduate levels, Assistant Professor Minh has made outstanding contributions to Vietnamese education. He has provided guidance to many research students to defend their PhD theses and Master’s theses. He also has educated many medical students and doctors.
He also devoted much time to compiling textbooks. Many of these, as well as his syllabi, are currently being used nationwide and are regularly cited in research papers and student theses.
Assistant Professor Minh’s life and career were presented in many famous books
He has published over one hundred research papers internationally. As a result, he was mentioned in the list of “Vietnamese Contemporary Doctors” in 2003, honoured as “An Outstanding Executive of the Age of Integration” in 2006, and presented in many famous books, such as “Founder in Vietnam and the world”, “Vietnamese Professors: Talent - Intelligence and Morals” and so on.
In addition, he was mentioned in “Portraits of Vietnamese Doctors” in 2009. He is a leading scientist in the hematology of transfusions and helped organize the Central Vietnam voluntary blood donation program. He was also one of the first Vietnamese doctors to employ blood stem-cell transplantation to cure diseases of the blood and associated organs.
Having been DTU Vice-Provost since 2009, Assistant Professor Minh has developed several academic programs including General Practitioner, Pharmacy and Nursing in Health Sciences to train professional human resources for the Central Region and the country.
