Seminar on Vietnamese Encyclopedias

On November 5th, the DTU Faculty of Law held a seminar with the Compiling Board of the Law section of the Vietnamese Encyclopedia, entitled “Dictionary entries in Administrative and Constitutional Law”.

Hero of Labor and Distinguished Teacher Le Cong Co, DTU President and Provost, Dr. Nguyen Thi Thuan, Dean of the DTU Faculty of Law, Professor Vo Khanh Linh, Chairman of Law Academic Council, former Vice- Chairman of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences and Vice-Manager of the Vietnamese Encyclopedia Compiling Board, Professor Dinh Ngoc Vuong, former Vice-Director of the Vietnam Institute of Lexicography and Encyclopedia and Vice-Secretary of Vietnamese Encyclopedia Compiling Project, Professor Vu Cong Giao, DTU Faculty of Law from the Hanoi National University and Scientific Clerk of the Compiling Board of the Law Volume and many other experts, lecturers and students attended.      

Hero of Labor and Distinguished Teacher Le Cong Co expressed his pleasure that DTU had been chosen to host the seminar and noted that this was a great opportunity for DTU lecturers broaden their knowledge.

Professor Vinh said: “The project is divided into 36 sections to compile the 37 volumes of the encyclopedia. The project consists of two time-periods. Firstly we plan to compile the 37 volumes within five to ten years. In the second period, we are aiming to compile the entire encyclopedia for each field. The Law Book, which is the 30th volume, will be completed faster than the others.” 
        
The experts discussed the Draft for Dictionary Entries in the Administrative Law and Constitutional Law section.
 
Le Kim Chi, a student of K22VLK5 said: “This is the first time I have attended such an informative and meaningful national seminar for Law students.”
