A Faculty of Accounting Workshop “Business Meets Students”

On May 23rd, the DTU Faculty of Accounting held the workshop “Business Meets Students”. The event offered students of the Faculty of Accounting, particularly those in their final year, the chance to get to know the business world, to learn about their professions and access to career opportunities.

Several accountants from Danang attended the workshop, including Ms. Nguyen Thi Minh Hung, Director of the ACA Accounting Training Center, Mr. Nguyen Huu Hung, Branch Director of Fast Accounting Software, Ms. Hoang Thi Bich Kieu, Vice-Director of Masha Ltd. and Ms. Truong Thi Phuong Nga, Chief Accountant at Ha Nhat Le Ltd.

They talked about their work experience in Accounting, and the required qualifications for new graduates. For example, Mr. Nguyen Huu Hung, who graduated from the University of Science and Technology, spent a difficult time constantly switching companies, but finally found a good job at Fast Accounting Software. New graduates should not be concerned about finding jobs with companies requiring experience, he explained. The most important attribute was good job attitude, a will to learn and demonstrating insight at work, to help the company limit risks and develop a better strategy for the future.

“This workshop is important because it provides last-year students with valuable information and experience about job hunting, preparing an application, answering questions at interviews and so on, based on the practical experiences of leading accountants in small and medium-sized companies in Danang.” said Dr. Phan Thanh Hai, Dean of the DTU Accounting Faculty,

The accountants awarded two places on the Practical Accounting course, worth 1.5 million VND each, to students correctly answering questions related to careers in accounting. In the future, the Faculty of Accounting will continue to invite accountants to come in to meet students, to help them gain confidence in their studies and career orientation.
