On October 10th, the Chairman of the National Professorship Council conferred titles on 65 new Professors and 638 Associate Professors, and Dr. Doan Hong Le and Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Hieu of Duy Tan University became Associate Professors.
Associate Professor Le is the Vice-Director of DTU Center for Economic & Social Research. He has conducted research in various fields, including Finance and Business Administration, International Integration and Customs, Trade and Economic Law and Special English. He has published 39 papers in national and international journals, 4 postgraduate education books and conducted 7 research projects at the national and provincial level. He has taught 9 Master’s degree candidates on how to defend their theses and lectured for a total of 3,500 hours.
Associate Professor Doan Hong Le
Associate Professor Le was awarded medals for his achievements in Vietnamese Customs and Vietnamese Finance and Certificates of Merit from the Chairperson of the Danang People’s Committee and the Minister of the Finance.
Associate Professor Le said: “I find the working environment at DTU is ideal for researchers to combine theory with real-time experience. Learning from their lecturing and research helps experienced lecturers produce better work and enhances the quality of education to graduate a skilled workforce”.
Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Hieu, Vice-Director of the DTU Institute for Advance Technology Development and Research, was honored to become an Associate Professor in Physics at the age of 37. He completed his Doctoral thesis at Belarusian State University in 2009. From 2010 to 2011, he studied at North Carolina State University. His major field of study focuses on researching the characteristics of electronics and graphene transmission.
Associate Professor Nguyen Ngoc Hieu
Associate Professor Hieu has authored 39 papers national and internationally, including 26 SCI and 1 Scopus article. He has also completed a Nafosted project, two research projects, taught 4 Master’s degree candidates on how to defend their graduation theses and one Ph.D. candidate on how to complete his Doctoral thesis.
Associate Professor Hieu said: “After working at DTU for many years, I find that it is an ideal place for researchers. Research has been considered as one of the key strategic missions here for the last five years. As well as investing in building advanced research facilities, the university has adopted policies to attract and encourage more and more young researchers graduating overseas to come to work here and publish research which will be of great value to the nation's socio-economic development”.
In 2015, Ho Khac Hieu, a young lecturer and researcher at the DTU Center for Research and Development, was awarded the youngest Associate Professorship in Vietnam at 31. With their talents and aspirations, DTU’s skilled researchers will continue making significant contributions to the country’s development.
