The signing ceremony
Speaking at the event, Dr. Le Nguyen Bao said: “The relations between DTU and DSU started in 2014 through contact with Mr. David L. Hansen, a US veteran of the Khe Sanh battlefields in Quang Tri, and currently a Special mandate from Executive Vice-President, DSU. It is an interesting coincidence that DSU is strong in Arts and Social Sciences, while DTU, since inception, has made humanities the cornerstone of its educational philosophy. DSU has film studios in the USA and DTU has the Silver Swallow Film Studio. DTU is combining traditional moviemaking with the latest 3D technology to create documentaries which recreate celebrated air battles involving the Vietnam Air Force and combined militia to defend the Ham Rong Bridge during the American War. Such international collaborations in film production and other fields will significantly improve the standard of education at DTU in the age of international integration.”
Under the agreement, DTU and Dixie State University will start some activities to perfect skills and techniques of filmmaking for the mutual desire of the two sides. In particular, DTU will organize some training courses on computer-generated imagery for officials of Dixie State University; cooperate with Dixie State University to introduce and show some movies of the DOCUTAH International Documentary Film Festival in Vietnam. Dixie State University will organize some training courses on engineering film studio, building studio, post-production processing, script writing and so on for DTU staffs.
