On January 2nd, the Institute of Scientific Studies for Talent and Human Resources (ISSTH) and the Institute for the Development of Human Potential (IPD) hosted a ceremony to present the Thanh Giong Gold Statue and the title of “An Outstanding Executive of the Age of Integration”. The award was received by one hundred executives, scientists, business people and others. Associate Professor Nguyen Ngoc Minh, DTU Vice-Provost, was one of them.

A Golden Title for Golden Contributions
The ceremony was part of the “Vietnamese Talent” program which selects outstanding candidates who have made significant contributions to the development of Vietnam.
Assistant Professor Minh said: “I am really sharing this honor with Duy Tan University. The award recognizes our contributions to our community. It also motivates me, with the support of DTU, to contribute further to the development of our national education system and economy.”

Assistant Professor Nguyen Ngoc Minh - a Teacher, Educator and Physician
During 40 years of teaching at graduate and postgraduate levels, Assistant Professor Minh has made an outstanding contribution to Vietnamese education. He has provided guidance to eight research students in defense of their PhD theses and to more than fifty in their Master’s theses. He has educated numbers of medical students and doctors. He has also devoted much time compiling textbooks. Many of those, with his syllabi, are currently being used nationwide and are regularly cited in research papers and student theses. He has published over one hundred research papers internationally. As a result, he was mentioned in the list of “Vietnamese Contemporary Doctors” in 2003.
Assistant Professor Minh is well-known as a physician of the people, and he was mentioned in “Portraits of Vietnamese Doctors” in 2009. He is a leader in the hematology of transfusions and helped organize the Central Vietnam voluntary blood donation program. He was also one of the first Vietnamese doctors to employ blood stem-cell transplantation to cure diseases of the blood and associated organs.
Since he was appointed DTU Vice-Provost in 2009, Assistant Professor Minh has developed several academic programs in Health Sciences to train professional resources for the Central Region and country.
He said: “By offering training in the health sciences for six years now, Duy Tan University has been attracting more and more talented students. In order to develop the health sector and to meet the high demands of public services and health care, DTU introduced the Research and Training Institute for Medicine, Biology and Pharmacy as a foundation for future development. With its ambitious, knowledgeable and experienced staff, DTU will continue to provide our community with talented graduates and I will continue to support them.”
