DTU Celebrates Its 21st Anniversary and 33rd Vietnamese Teacher’s Day

Like a radiant sunflower welcoming the sunshine of a bright new day, Duy Tan University is confidently entering its 22nd year of growth and change. The university has already made its mark as a well-known, quality academic institution, winning the trust of the local community. On the evening of November 19th, DTU celebrated its 21st Anniversary and the 33rd Vietnamese Teacher’s Day at the Trung Vuong theatre. 

   
The musical performance 
 
Opening the ceremony, Dr. Vo Thanh Hai, DTU Vice-Provost, celebrated the decision made by the Prime Minister to change the status of DTU from a people-founded university to private one. On behalf of the DTU Board of Provosts, he expressed his deep gratitude to the generations of lecturers who taught at DTU over the past 21 years of its development. DTU presented awards to outstanding lecturers and staff and especially acknowledged researchers, such as Dr. Ho Khac Hieu, who is the youngest academic in Vietnam to be granted an Associate Professorship, at the age of 31.

DTU’s 21 years of development were encapsulated by a beautiful symphony entitled “Duy Tan University”, composed by Professor Pham Vinh Quang, and the talk by Mr. Tan Hoang Da Vu, the writer and folklorist. DTU students sang songs which praised DTU, their teachers and their love of Vietnam. 
 
   
DTU lecturers and staff present flowers to Distinguished Teacher Le Cong Co 
 
A bouquet of flowers was presented to Distinguished Teacher Le Cong Co, the DTU founder, Provost and President, to celebrate his 74th birthday. The ceremony was named “November - Flowers”, and the university looks forward to achieving even more success in affirming its position as the first and largest private university in Central Vietnam.
