To meet the increasingly stringent health care demands of the local workforce, Duy Tan University is now offering a Doctorate of Medicine program in 2015. On September 16th, the DTU Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacology held a meeting for incoming students of the Health Sciences program.

DTU offered a Bachelor of Nursing program in 2009 and Bachelor of Pharmacology in 2012. In 2015, DTU received permission from the Ministry of Education and Training and the Ministry of Health to offer a Doctorate of Medicine program. To ensure the quality of education for this program, DTU has collaborated with two American universities, the University of Illinois in Chicago and Pittsburgh University. DTU is also partnering with eighteen local hospitals. Students will be able to work with patients at the Danang C Hospital, the 17th Military Zone Hospital, the 199th Hospital of the Ministry of Public Security, the Quang Nam General hospital and others. The Family Hospital is the leading hospital for internships.

Distinguished Teacher Le Cong Co, DTU President and Provost, said: “DTU is the third private university nationwide to receive the approval from the government to offer a Doctorate of Medicine program. We are delighted to gain the support and encouragement from well-known hospitals nationwide for our new program. DTU will teach advanced subjects in conjunction with the University of Illinois in Chicago and Pittsburgh University so that our students can learn about the latest international methods and build a solid foundation for their future careers.”
