On July 30th, the Danang Department of Construction awarded a consolation prize to DTU students of Faculty of Architecture for their submission "Danang Reaching Out", in the 2016 Lunar New Year Floral Display and Lighting Decoration Ideas contest.
Students of DTU Faculty of Architecture obtained a consolation prize
Students of Architecture of universities and colleges in Danang, including the Danang University of Technology, the Danang Architecture University, and Duy Tan University, were eligible for the contest. This year, the contest was broadened to include construction consultants, construction designers, etc. One hundred and fifty people participated on forty-nine projects, comprising thirty-three in floral display and sixteen in lighting decoration.

Inspired by the image of a langur (a rare primate) riding the crest of a wave, turning to the future and heading for the open sea, the project “Danang Reaching Out” by students of class K17 KTR4 in the DTU Faculty of Architecture, was awarded a consolation prize.
The 2016 Lunar New Year Floral Display and Lighting Decoration Ideas contest organized by the city of Danang aims to select the best ideas for floral displays and lighting decorations for the Tet festival 2016. As well as honoring the city’s traditional and modern culture and displaying next year’s symbol, participants were required to demonstrate creativity and artistry, in harmony with the spirit of the people of Danang.
