Achievements

DTU students won one third prize and five consolation prizes at the 2015 National Mechanics Olympiad.

 

 

 

The 27th National Mechanics Olympiad was organized in three regions - the North, Central, and the South. From April 19th to 25th, sixty-nine contestants from universities and colleges in the Central region, including DTU, Central University of  Construction, Nha Trang University and Duc Tri College, met at the Danang University of Technology to compete with each other in eleven subjects: Soil Mechanics, Hydraulics, Structural Mechanics, Theoretical Mechanics, Machine Parts, Machine Principles, Strength of Materials, IT Applications in Mechanics - Theoretical Mechanics, IT Applications in Mechanics - achine Principles, and IT Applications in Mechanics - Machine Parts.

 

Three DTU teams participated in the contest this year in: Strength of Materials, Structural Mechanics, and Soil Mechanics. Pham Quoc Hoang (K17XDD) won a Third prize, and five Consolation prizes fell to Vo Nhat Thinh (K17XDD), Mai Dinh Chin (K18XDD), Nguyen Quang Hung (K18XDD), Ha Duc (K17XDC), and Phan Manh Thang (K17XDC).

 

  

 

Dr Le Cong Duy, a lecturer of Construction and immediate leader of the competing teams, said: “The National Mechanics Olympiad is considered to be difficult, advanced exam competition, with a high level in the field of construction. Participation in this competition requires much work from the students and strong support from their university. DTU has done better results this year with one national third prize. However, teachers and students must continue working hard to achieve better results in the future.”

 

After 27 National Mechanics Olympiad times so far, the prestigious competition continues to attract skilled students with a real passion for construction. I enhances study and research at universities and colleges nationwide and discovers and nurtures the talented young mechanics who will drive futures development in the industry.
