On April 12th, students from Danang high schools attended the Preliminary selection for Advanced Programs at DTU. On this occasion, Mr. Nguyen Duc Man, Dean of the DTU International School, and Mr. Dang Ngoc Trung, Director of the DTU Center for Enrollment and Communication, presented twenty-six scholarships to students with excellent academic performance.
Mr. Man talks about Advanced programs
Mr. Man talked with the high school students about the advanced programs at DTU, which have proved to be extremely popular so far. After signing an agreement with Carnegie Mellon University (CMU), one of the top four IT universities in America, to license their IT curricula, DTU has offered various programs, including Network Security, Software Engineering, Information Systems and Information Technology. DTU graduates have been employed by many big companies, such as GLOBAL CYBERSOFT Vietnam, Enclave, FPT, Game Loft and others. One hundred percent of the graduates of the first Software Engineering course found jobs immediately.
Students asks questions about joint programs
In 2010, DTU partnered with Pennsylvania State University (PSU), one of the top 5 largest public universities in America, to offer international-standard academic programs in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance and Banking, and Hospitality. In 2011 DTU collaborated with California State University in Fullerton and Pomona (CSU), one of the leading public universities on the West Coast, to develop advanced programs in Construction and Architecture for students in the Central Region.
DTU has also designed many joint programs to send students abroad, including the 1+1+2 program, with 1 year at DTU and 3 years in America at the Lorain County Community College. LCCC has been recognized as the #1 community college in Ohio by the Ohio Board of Regents Service Expectations Committee.
DTU then collaborated with Appalachian State University, ranked third in the University of North Carolina system, to develop the 2+2 program. Students will spend their first two years at DTU and transfer to Appalachian State University to complete their last two years. Since June 2012, DTU has been offering the 3+1 joint program with Coventry University in the UK, with the first 3 years at DTU and the final year in Coventry.
Mr. Man also explained about Bachelor degree courses available at DTU only, with American accredited degrees conferred by Upper Iowa University in the 4+0 program. All subjects are taught in English, with sixty percent of the courses taught by UIU lecturers at DTU and the rest by other visiting English-speakers and Vietnamese. Accreditation will be granted using the Regional Testing System of North and Central America.
DTU grants scholarships to outstanding high school students
Quang Quoc, a student of Thanh Khe High school, said:
“I have been provided with a lot of useful information about DTU today. I decided to study Hospitality and took part in the preliminary selection for advanced programs at DTU, hoping that I would get a chance to pursue my ambitions. So the scholarship I received from DTU has become a great motivator for me to study hard as a new comer in 2015 - 2016.”
