Defeating more than 40 strong competitors of ten countries in the Asia- Pacific region to score 139 points, DTU IDEERS team won the Champion Cup in the 2014 “Introducing and Demonstrating Earthquake Engineering Research in Schools” competition, hosted in Taiwan.
DTU team wins the 2014 Asia-Pacific IDEERS Cup
Four students of the DTU IDEERS team are from DTU Faculty of Construction, being Ha Anh Tuan, Dang Quoc Dao, Luu Anh Tin and Ho Thu Thanh Thu. 139 was the total score the DTU IDEERS gained, which was 14 points more than that of the National Taipei University of Science and Technology (Taiwan) team who came the second place.
Developed by the University of Bristol, Introducing and Demonstrating Earthquake Engineering Research in Schools (IDEERS) is a shaking table competition with the aim to communicate the challenge and excitement of earthquake engineering research to young people.
The 2014 IDEERS attracted 101 teams from ten countries in the Asia-Pacific region, of which 42 teams came from secondary schools and 59 teams from universities.
Previously, DTU IDEERS team won a Third - place award and a Consolation prize in the 2013 and 2012 IDEERS.
