On June 2nd, DTU signed a new 3+1 partnership agreement with ITT Dublin as part of the DTU strategic objective to enhance its quality of education and offer its students more opportunities to study abroad.

Distinguished Teacher Le Cong Co, DTU President and Provost, said:
“Recently, DTU has signed many partnership agreements with various well-known universities in the US and UK to offer students the most advanced academic programs and study-abroad opportunities. But this is the first time DTU has made agreement with an Irish institution. We are thankful for the assistance of the Irish Embassy in Hanoi in the visa application process for their entry to study in Dublin and for helping create even more career opportunities for DTU students.”

Ireland is a beautiful country with modern cities and unspoiled countryside. Ireland has an international reputation for the highest quality of education. Growing numbers of foreigners study in Ireland. The IT Tallaght student body in Dublin now consists of students from throughout Europe, China, Brazil, Canada and Vietnam. Damien Cole, the Irish Ambassador to Vietnam, said:
“Over the past 20 years, Ireland has made fast progress, especially in education, because of the close cooperation between educational institutions and business. We are proud to see many international companies choosing to establish their headquarters in Ireland, because of their access to a highly-educated workforce. DTU is one of the largest and most prestigious private universities in Vietnam. We expect that our partnership will offer DTU students an interesting study environment and broaden their experience.”
Under the agreement, students study for IT or International Hospitality and Tourism Management for 3 years at DTU, then transfer to ITT Dublin for their final year. In Ireland, DTU students are eligible to work for 20 hours per week while they are studying and then work in Ireland for one year on graduation.
Mr. John Vickery, Director of Admissions at ITT, briefly introduced ITT Dublin and the similarities between the two institutions in terms of investment in modern facilities and international partnerships to enhance the quality of education. Established in 1992 in Dublin, with several modern campuses around the city, ITT has over 2,000 students. The institution offers sixteen graduate and undergraduate programs and over 85% of graduates find jobs every year.
DTU is the official representative of renowned universities and colleges worldwide for study-abroad programs, including the 3+1 at Coventry University, the 2+2 at Appalachian State University and the 1+1+2 program at Lorain County Community College (LCCC).
The agreement between DTU and ITT Dublin has the great advantage for DTU students to earn a diploma issued by ITT Dublin after their one final year of study there.
