Training Course on IBM’s Big Data

From May 12th to 13th, DTU, in collaboration with IBM Vietnam, held a training course on Big Data, which attracted more than forty IT lecturers and staff from universities and colleges nationwide. The event aimed to enhance the knowledge, skills and latest technology applications in IT education and research.

During the two-day training course Mr. Huynh Van Tung, an IBM Vietnam representative, talked about Big Data, which is a popular term used to describe the exponential growth and availability of data, both structured and unstructured. Big Data has the potential to help companies improve operations and make faster, more intelligent decisions, which can mean greater operational efficiencies, cost reductions and reduced risk.

“DTU’s facillities are quite modern, which helps students to improve their ability and creativity. The training course is a part of a collaboration program between IBM Vietnam and DTU. Through these lectures, students have the opportunity to update their knowledge of the latest technology, which will be prove to be useful in their future careers.”, said Mr. Tung.

Having collaborated with IBM Vietnam since 2005, DTU has provided its students with the opportunity to access and experience the most advanced IBM technology, to participate in IBM training courses to gain international certification and to improve their skills and qualifications. This has become solid foundation on which DTU students can build more achievements in their future careers.
