The 22nd Informatics Olympiad for
Vietnamese students and the 38th ACM International Collegiate
Programming Contest (ACM/ICPC) were held at DTU on November 28th. MOET, DTU and the Vietnam Huawei
Technology Company launched the “Mobile Application Renovation 2013” contest.
Attendees included Mr. Tran Ba Viet Dung, Director-General of the International
Cooperation Department, (MOET), Mr. Nguyen Vu Quoc Hung, Vice-Director of
Bureau of Information Technology (MOET), Mr. Nguyen Long, Vice-President and
General Secretary of the Vietnam Informatics Association, Mr. Yuan Song,
Director-General of the Vietnam Huawei Technology Company, Mr. Le Hong Truong, Sales
Director of the VNG Company and Distinguished Teacher, Le Cong Co, DTU
President and Provost, together with a large number of contestants.

Professor Nguyen Ngoc Minh said: “Creativity
plays a vital role in evaluating the power of a country or an agency. Where
there is creativity, there is success and it is Information Technology that drives
creativity and success. This is why, since the early days of its inception, DTU
has decided that IT is the key to the academic advancement of training and
research. The 2013 Mobile Application Renovation
Contest is an opportunity for
students to be creative in IT. All students participating in this contest
are outstanding, so I want you all to have great success.”

At the event, Mr. Tran Ba Viet Dung, gave his warm thanks to DTU for their hard
work in organizing and hosting the competition.
“We are living in the age of the knowledge and technology economy. Using
hi-tech products, including mobile phones, helps us keep in touch with the rest
of the world. The current trend in IT is to develop mobile application
software. DTU, as well as many other universities nationwide, has increased the enrollment of ÍT students dramatically. By participating in this contest, students will have opportunity to develop their creativity and accelerate IT development.”, said Tran Ba Viet Dung.
The 2013 Mobile Application Renovation
Contest, sponsored by the Vietnam
Huawei Technology Company, is organized for the benefit of informatics students
nationwide. The qualifying round takes place from November 28th 2013
to March 31st 2014 and the final round lasts from April 1st
to April 30th 2014. After the contest, the most talented students
will have opportunity to participate in advanced technology training courses and
receive job offers from the Vietnam
Huawei Technology Company.
