Employers today place a lot of emphasis on finding
candidates with the right skills and competencies for their companies, so
knowledge of job application skills has played a major role in differentiating
applicants to help them stand out from the crowd. On September 14th, Mr. Phan Hai, an
Instructor from the Business Edge talked about job application skills and his experiences to DTU students.
Mr. Phan Hai shared his working experiences to DTU students
Mr.
Phan Hai works as an instructor at several educational institutions in the Central
region, holding positions as a member of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam
Marketing Association, President of the BQ Company and Vice-Chairman of the
Danang Young Business Association. Through his experiences, he helped DTU
students focus on their abilities and outlooks on their lives and careers.
Upcoming
graduates should prepare a professional CV, know their strengths and weakness
and learn about labor market. They should also spend much time learning about
the companies they plan to apply to, which will prove that they are ready to
impress the recruiters.
"How
long does it take you to write a CV?” was the question that concerned most
students. According to Mr. Phan Hai, there are specific things that students
should mention in their CVs and the way they write it really showcases their
competencies and abilities. This is very important in grabbing the recruiter’s
interest.
Students ask a lot of questions about job application skills
Mr.
Phan Hai said: "At an interview,
recruiters look for candidates who demonstrate that they have a good
understanding of the organization. You
need to spend time learning about the mission, vision, culture, key values and
many aspects, including their business sector, labor and customer policies and
essential skills of negotiation and communication, so that you can excel and
pass the interview.”
During
the training course, many questions about job application skills were answered by Mr. Phan Hai. DTU has
been holding various practical training courses like this one to provide future
graduates with the latest information on how to prepare for career
opportunities.
