The DTU 2013 Graduation Ceremony

With bright smiles of delight, dressed in their graduation gowns, DTU Bachelors and Masters graduates gathered at the Trung Vuong theatre on June 2nd for the Graduation Ceremony. The ceremony has become a big event where DTU students are received high awards from the DTU Board of Provosts.

Attendees included Mr. Vo Duy Khuong - Member of the City Standing Committee and Vice-President of the Danang People’s Committee, Distinguished Teacher Le Cong Co - DTU President and Provost, representatives from local organizations, DTU faculty, parents, DTU students and reporters from the local press.

Distinguished Teacher Le Cong Co, who has dedicated his life to education, addressed at the ceremony: “During our 19 years of development, we have overcome many difficulties and obstacles. The hard work and high achievements of all the DTU faculty and students have gained significant prestige for DTU. As a private university working to improve itself, DTU is now honored to have become a high quality, multi-level, multi-discipline university. Your DTU education will be the cornerstone as you start your new lives. I hope that you will be brave enough to face the challenges of the workplace and to apply your knowledge and skills ethically to become outstanding citizens”.

At the ceremony, Dr. Vo Thanh Hai - DTU Vice-Provost gave reports on the 3rd year of the postgraduate program (2010-2012), on the K4 Engineering and Architecture program (2008-2013), the K5 Bachelors program (2009-2013) and the K6 Associate Bachelor’s program (2010-2013). 1,009 undergraduates and 509 Associate Bachelor’s students received degrees, 132 of which were graded excellent. “Receiving your degree on graduation day is the first step in the new and long journey of becoming a good citizen. My congratulations and best wishes go to all of you. Let’s stay in touch and share our future accomplishments”, added Dr. Vo Thanh Hai.  
 
Mr. Vo Duy Khuong presents flowers to DTU

On behalf of Danang People’ Committee, Mr. Vo Duy Khuong - Member of the City Standing Committee and Vice-President of the Danang People’s Committee presented flowers and congratulated DTU and the graduates on their successes.“The prestige gained by DTU over the years has steadily eliminated discrimination between public and private universities in Vietnam. DTU has become a trademark in the national education system. It has been awarded Labor Medals and Emulation Banners by MOET and the government. DTU students have also contributed to DTU’s good name through their high achievements. Many of DTU’s most important activities offer the best to DTU students, such as offering advanced academic programs in partnership with American universities and hosting Job Fairs for students have received high compliments. I hope that, as DTU graduates, you will apply your knowledge and enhance your ability to contribute to the development of our country”, added Mr. Vo Duy Khuong.

Phan Thi Huong Lan, a DTU Master of Business Administration graduate, who has studied for many years at DTU said: “My sincere thanks go to the DTU Board of Provosts and faculty for your encouragement and devotion in teaching us over the years. Though DTU students differ in age and specialties, we all share a common hope that we learn much and improve our professional skills through DTU’s advanced programs. DTU postgraduate students strongly affirm that enrolling and studying at DTU was the best choice for us. With innovative teaching methods, “Teach to learn and learn to teach”, DTU has connected with us and provided us with a solid foundation for future success”. 

Mr. Dang Ngoc Hai - Director of Axon Active Vietnam said: “Students with solid knowledge, good English and “soft” skills, who can adapt to any circumstances, will secure good jobs. I believe that DTU students who are confident, dynamic, good at English and their major will meet these requirements”. At the Graduation Ceremony, Gameloft Vietnam also awarded four scholarships worth 2 million VND each to 4 DTU students of Information Technology.

At the graduation ceremony, the memorable song “DTU khuc tam giao” sent a message to the students. “Fly far away to many regions, fly to the sky of knowledge, and nourish your dreams and future ambitions, so that, even though you are far away, you will still remember DTU, the “cradle” of high-qualified students…”
