Being aware of the rapid development and modernization, Duy Tan University (DTU) has focused on educating qualified and motivated students bring about positive changes in environmental and medical care for the community. Currently, DTU is offering undergraduate programs in the Environment, Health Care and Medicine.
The Environment - a choice for a greener and cleaner Danang
One of DTU’s objectives is to establish Environmental Studies as one of the “hot majors”, thus contributing to the campaign for a greener and cleaner Danang.
For years, DTU has been updating its curriculum in Environmental Studies by partnering with famous universities in America and Singapore and exchanging faculty for training. Most of the DTU Environmental Studies faculty are professionally trained and equipped with soft skills to manage environmental resources. Dr. Tran Nhat Tan, Dean of the DTU Environment Studies department said: “We often hold conferences and seminars to share ideas, exchange knowledge and experience about studies and research projects for both faculty and students. The increasing number of student research projects indicates their intention to study harder”.
In addition, students will be trained in computer and English skills, to attain 420-460 TOEIC scores, to meet the requirements to work international companies or environmentally oriented organizations. It will only take students four and a half years to complete their courses, instead of five years. As a result, they will have more opportunity to find good jobs compared with students from other universities.

On March 1, 2010, the Ministry of Education and Training (MOET) and the Ministry of Health authorized DTU to open a Department of Medicine at both college and undergraduate levels. Two years later, on March 15, 2012, MOET authorized DTU to establish three more new Medical programs. This means that DTU will be the only university in Danang to offer programs in Health Care and Medicine.
DTU’s Health Care program was built in conjunction with the University of Seattle and Seattle Pacific University, with the objective of exporting qualified health care workers to foreign countries. Initially, however, the DTU Board of Provosts is focusing on promoting better job opportunities to meet local demands.
Dr. Nguyen Ngoc Minh, Dean of the DTU Department of Medicine and Vice Provost said “We commit to ensuring that our graduates will be equally as qualified as those studying at other universities and, at the same time, there will be more opportunities for them to gain employment in other countries”.
