DTU Turns Seventeen Years Old and Wins Two Emulation Flags

The 17th Anniversary of DTU was commemorated on the evening of November 10th, in the presence of many distinguished guests, including the DTU Board of Rectors, the entire staff and students. On this special occasion, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Anh, Vice Chairman of Danang’s People Committee, awarded a Government Emulation Flag for achievements in the 2009-2010 academic year.

In October, 2011, DTU had become the only private university in Vietnam to receive an emulation flag from MOET in Hanoi. These two flags will serve as an inspiration for DTU to work harder to achieve its goals in the new academic year.

In addition, Mr. Luong Nguyen Minh Triet, Secretary of Danang Youth Union awarded a medal to Mr. Pham Dang Quang, the DTU Youth Union Secretary. Groups and individuals were also presented certificates of merit by the DTU Board of Rectors for their achievements in the previous academic year.

Winners of the DTU Beauty & Talent Contest  

After the Anniversary ceremony, the final round of the DTU Beauty & Talent Contest delighted the audience. Le Thi Ngoc Huyen and Tran Anh Minh from the DTU International School were selected as Best Couple. Pham Thi Thuy My was the winner of the Miss DTU prize, with Cao Thi Ha Trang and Le Thi Anh Minh coming in second and third respectively.

Some of DTU’s remarkable achievements over the past 17 years:

* Enrolled 50,000 students at all levels, and graduated 25,000.

* Operated five modern campuses around Danang, with a total area of 35,000 square meters.

* Employed 659 people, including 420 lecturers (63%) and 259 staff (37%). In addition, 130 visiting lecturers have regularly taught at DTU.

* Partnered with some prestigious universities in the USA

* Admitted 130 staff to be Party Members and awarded numerous certificates of merit by the local government.

* Contributed about 25 billion VND to the government
