Mr. Brett Muir, International Liaison Manager of the Bay of Plenty Polytechnic in Tauranga, New Zealand and Ms. Tran Phuong Nga, the New Zealand Trade & Enterprise Business Development Manager visited DTU on 26th October, 2011. Dr. Le Nguyen Bao, DTU Vice-Rector, and representatives from the Tourism Department and the International School welcomed them.
DTU and the Bay of Plenty Polytechnic in Tauranga meeting
Mr. Brett Muir talked about Tauranga, a city with the biggest port in New Zealand. He said: “Danang and Tauranga have much in common socially and geographically, which could prove advantageous to DTU students learning there. We hope that this exchange program will be successful and accelerate the development of both cities”.
On behalf of DTU, Dr. Le Nguyen Bao thanked the delegates for coming to DTU. “One of DTU’s priorities is to expand partnerships in foreign countries. We hope to collaborate with Bay of Plenty Polytechnic in Tauranga in Tourism and Hospitality education”, said Dr. Bao.
Ms. Tran Phuong Nga talked about study in New Zealand. She remarked that tuition fees at universities in New Zealand are the same for both international and local students. Furthermore, New Zealand is famous for its high education standards and that is why more and more overseas students are applying to study there.
