The Social Venture Planning Competition (SVPC) Awards Ceremony was held at the DTU campus on the afternoon of 18th August, 2011. Dr. Don Summers from Seattle Pacific University, the DTU Board of Rectors and students attended the event.

The DTU Board of Rectors awarded certificates and gifts to the three best teams. The first prize, worth 10 million VND, was won by the “Art Gallery of Danang” project of the Light team. The New Duy Tan Generation team, with their project “Student Cafeteria” came second, with 5 million VND and the third prize, of 3 million VND, was awarded to the “Craft Village Tourism” project of the Crafttravel team.
Nguyen Thi Minh Thao, Tran Thi Thanh Lich and Le Huu Nhat were also awarded special prizes, for the Best English Writing, for the Best English Presentation and for the Project with the Most Unique Concept, respectively.
Dr. Don Summers, representing Seattle Pacific University, presented certificates to Vo Nguyen Thuy Trang, Duong Thi Uyen Khue, Nguyen Thi Minh Thao of the Light team for winning the consolation prize in the SVPC final round in America.
The SVPC Competition was held under the collaboration of DTU and Seattle Pacific University in the USA. Nineteen teams from several universities in Danang participated in the first round and second rounds, held at DTU in March, 2011. All projects were written and presented in English. Three of these teams were selected by the judges to take part in the final round in Seattle.
On 13th April, 2011, the final round of SVPC Competition took place at Weter House in Martin Square at Seattle Pacific University, in Washington State in the USA. Thirty-four teams participated, from leading universities in the western states, including Washington University, Seattle University, Northwest University and Seattle Pacific University. The “Art Gallery in Danang” project won the consolidation prize. “This was a proud day for our DTU students. The SVPC Competition was an opportunity for them to show their ability by competing with American university students”, said Mr. Nguyen Cong Minh, Head of the SVPC Board at DTU.
